WHAT IS IT?

The MK IV Golf R32 was the first in a line of Godzilla Golfs that formed a direct line to today’s Golf R. The R32 added a Haldex AWD system and the venerable 3.2-liter narrow angle V6 with 240-horsepower, (hence the R32 moniker). The R32 was a fond farewell to the MK IV Golf platform and it had bigger wheels and tires, lower suspension and larger brakes. The powertrain was similar to what you’d find in a 3.2 Audi TT Quattro, but everything felt sharper in the Golf. Offered for just one year in the U.S. only 5,000 cars were sold.

WHY THIS CAR HAS BEST ONE ON THE PLANET CHOPS

R32s were meant to be driven hard, and most were, and now that they’re over two decades old, almost all of the survivors suffer madly from the fifth and sixth owner syndrome. It is rare indeed to find a minty example like this one with just 32,000 miles on it and all the hallmarks of careful, adult human ownership. It’s for sale in suburban Denver, Colorado for the not at all insane price of $39,900
