Ford’s homage to their legendary GT40 was sold in the 2005-6 model years. Though larger than the original and obviously built to satisfy modern safety and emissions requirements, the faithfully reinterpreted styling and performance from the supercharged 4.6L V8 created a truly instant collectible. Ford GTs sold for more than MSRP (approx.. $150,000 at the time) and have never fallen. As a result, most of the 4,038 built seem to sell with little more than delivery miles and are rarely enjoyed as the beautiful performance cars they are.

Unlike most, this “Speed Yellow” 2005 Ford GT has been driven. While 15,000 miles on a 20-year-old vehicle wouldn’t normally be considered high mileage, it is relatively high for a GT as most owners seemed more concerned with preservation rather than enjoyment. Cars that are driven and maintained are also less likely to have a lot of deferred maintenance and can continue to be enjoyed since their value isn’t derived solely from their pickledstatus. We can only imagine that every mile this car has seen must have put a big smile on someone’s face.
The studio photography on this Bring a Trailer listing certainly puts this car in its best light but one is hard pressed to find any flaws other than some very minor wrinkles on the driver’s seat leather.
