WHAT IS IT?

The B5 RS4 was the successor to the Porsche, which wasn’t a Porsche, but the RS2. While it lacked some of the charm of the RS2 (Like the Porsche/Audi VIN tag and the Cup wheels), it was still a formidable car that sadly, followed the pattern of other formidable Euro cars of the day, it was unavailable in the U.S. and Canada until the 25 and 15 year rules of the respective countries took effect. With wider fenders and a Cosworth-developed 2.7-liter biturbo V6, making 375 horsepower, the RS4 was an incredible piece of forbidden fruit. It’s listed on autoscout24.com for the equivalent of about $96,000, which the private seller indicates is negotiable.

WHY THIS ONE HAS BEST ONE ON THE PLANET CHOPS

It’s 60,500 kilometers translates to less than 38,000 miles, and everything about its appearance looks like that of a very well-cared-for 15,000-mile car. It’s difficult to find anything to fault here. Even the carbon fiber looks pristine. If you’re a long-roof collector, this would make an ideal pairing with the E34 M5 wagon we featured a few weeks ago.

This is an astonishingly good-looking RS4, but for this money, I think I’d have to go with the Porsche that wasn’t a Porsche, the RS2

There is something awesome about a Hot Wagon. This RS4 Avant is beautiful, but not worth shipping across the pond. Those expenses would add up, and I think there’s more fun to be had for the money. It is a great example all the same.

Why aren’t wagons more popular here! This would make all the soccer trips so much more fun!
