Submission Form
Guidelines for Submission
The first rule of submission to Best One on the Planet is that there are no hard-and-fast rules, but there are things that our editors are looking for, and keeping these things in mind will give your submission a better shot at getting chosen:
There’s no date cutoff for cars, but we naturally favor pre-2000 cars, simply because a quarter century is enough time to render a car’s freakishly nice condition somewhat novel.
We tend to favor original, unrestored cars since this is a less-than-ideal format to split hairs between six-figure, open-checkbook restorations. Plus, that’s more tedious than fun anyway.
Something novel, or quirky is always fun. Not necessarily cars that nobody has ever heard of, but certainly cars with a low survivorship rate. We always get geeked looking at something that should be on the automotive threatened, endangered or extinct list. Know of a perfect Dodge Neon ACR, or a MK I VW Scirocco? That’s what we’re talking about!
Freakishly low miles aren’t everything and a word about pickled cars: Pickled cars are cars  that were bought new with intention of preserving them with little more than delivery miles for eventual financial gain. The whole idea was kind of contrived and unseemly, and incidentally, generally a terrible investment strategy. The usual suspects were things like ’78 Pace Car Corvettes, ’76 Eldorados and for reasons that nobody seems to understand, Cosworth Vegas. Since there are so many of these cars out there, and honestly, one is pretty much like the next, it would be rare for us to feature a pickled car of any stripe. Submit often, the more you throw at the wall, the more likely something is to stick!
