About Us
WHAT IS THE BEST ONE ON THE PLANET?
Best One on the Planet is the place to geek out over freakishly good examples of the cars you love.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
You decide which cars make the first cut. Every day, new user submissions for Best One on the Planet Nominees go live on the site. You get to vote and comment, telling us if you think it’s the best or not. Know of a better example? Submit it! 4-star Nominees go to the Best One on the Plant Jury, a panel of experts made up of automotive collectors, automotive journalists, restorers, and concours d’elègance judges who all have one thing in common with you— They’ve all spent more than a significant chunk of their lives scrolling through and sharing online car ads.
HOW CAN I BE A PART OF BEST ONE ON THE PLANET?
It’s easy, do what you normally do, scroll through ads, auctions, and Facebook Groups, or shoot detailed photos of your car, a friend’s car, or even a street-parked car and submit a link or photos of a car that you think has the potential to be The Best One on the Planet (with your explanation as to why you think it’s the best of the best). Or, you can just comment on the submissions that go up on the site daily. Remember, we pay close attention to the comments, and we’ll archive your expertise for the benefit of others. From time to time, we’ll even ask those who have demonstrated conspicuous expertise to join the Best One on the Planet Jury. So, comment often, and comment thoughtfully!
Freakishly low miles aren’t everything
A word about Pickled cars:
Pickled cars are cars that were bought new with intention of preserving them with little more than delivery miles for eventual financial gain. The whole idea was kind of contrived and unseemly, and incidentally, generally a terrible investment strategy. The usual suspects were things like ’78 Pace Car Corvettes, ’76 Eldorados and for reasons that nobody seems to understand, Cosworth Vegas. Since there are so many of these cars out there, and honestly, one is pretty much like the next, it would be rare for us to judge a pickled car of any stripe, but feel free to submit them and we'll try to post them.
