WHAT IS IT?

The Renault Clio Willams was a late entry into the Euro hot hatch segment that was VW created with the original MK 1 Golf GTI in the early 1980s. While is came after the aforementioned VW and the gorgeous and capable Peugeot 205 GTi, the Clio Williams was nonetheless special as it was a homologation car for Group A and N Classes in rallying. As such, it’s inherently a touch more special, and the assistance of F1 constructor Williams was cool as well. With about 145-horsepower on tap, it was a decent performer, and handling was in the upper echelons of front-drivers. The original Clio Williams proved so popular that nearly 10 times the number required for homologation were built.

WHY THIS CAR HAS BEST ONE ON THE PLANET CHOPS

“New” isn’t hyperbole in describing the condition of this Metallic Sports Blue Clio Williams. With the equivalent of about 2,500 miles on it, it’s seen some use, it isn’t a pickled car by any means, and in any case, preserving Clios wasn’t really a think after it became clear that Renault intended to build far more than the minimum required for homologation. Every surface of the car appears new with the underside especially impressive. As a reminder though that the car is intended to be a driver, it sports a set of recent Michelin Pilot Sports. At about $85,000, it’s hardly cheap, but as we say, “find another.”
