WHAT IS IT?

This is a 10k-mile example of the sport compact icon of the 2000s — and it has all the proper, correct, time-appropriate aftermarket add-ons that a sport compact collector (there’s a new term) would probably be looking to source (and would have a HARD time doing). US-market Type Rs are rare on the ground — only 1,355 or so made it here — and the listing states that some of the original parts come with the car.

These are special cars filled with a bunch of unique Type R components.

WHY THIS CAR HAS BEST ONE ON THE PLANET CHOPS

Usually, mods don’t add value, but this is an exception. Mugen goodies like wheels, exhaust, and lowering springs are huge value adds to the already sterling paint, interior, and engine compartment. 10k miles with a condition that reflects it. Special in that it reflects a unique time versus just a box-stock MSO model. Is it the best? It’s worth a conversation!

As a Honda nut, I love the ITR, and finally got to drive one a year ago, it’s hard to explain how good the DC2 is, you just gotta experience it, they’re raw, they’re tight and a riot, seriously, save your money on a Skyline GT-R and get a DC2, they’re more fun. For me, this example was good, BaT seems to scare up a low mile one every several months or so. Someone really needs to get Peter Cunningham to submit his yellow one, that car is truly in a league of its own.

Ohhhhhh baby. I love Acura Integras, having been the previous owner of not one but TWO used ’87 models (both LS 5 speeds) and a brand new 5 speed ’92 GS which I put 150,000 trouble free miles on for many years after college. This 2000 model is a fantastic example of the ultimate next gen Type R, and with the performance upgrades it is exactly what I would have done to it back in the day, should I have been able to afford it. I know collectors who still have these cars tucked away with delivery miles, with the assumption they will be so valuable they simply should not be driven. This is an amazing car, and you’ll be happier as a driver, not the winner of the Type-R Car Capsule staring contest. Fantastic entry. I’m tingling.
